The Undoing Borders Tour Begins
We’re on the road! Our first stop was a wonderful potluck and discussion at the Arizona Worker Rights Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Thank you all so much for coming out and participating with us in this gathering. A few people remarked about how exciting it was to see so many different types of people engaged in border resistance and im/migrant justice work come together under the same roof for an evening and many expressed a desire for such cross-issue solidarity spaces to continue as a means of strengthening our relations and work.
The potluck and conversation was co-hosted by 3rd Space (a fabulous collective of queer folks of color and allies creating, in their words: “action-oriented, multi-lingual, multi-cultural, and multi-racial spaces to actualize collective liberation”) and Arizona Feminist Action Network (AZFAN), “a loose band of anti-patriarchal, anti-capitalist, anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-heteronormative, anti-cisnormative, and anti-hierarchical fanatics passionate about spreading cultures of mutual aid, accountability, and resistance.”
We were joined by well over 30 people who are engaged in numerous projects in Phoenix and surrounding area. Very soon, we’ll upload some videos of short interviews with some participants, so check back soon! If you were in attendance that night and would like to share exciting projects with people following the tour blog, you’re welcome to leave a comment below.
Lastly, a huge thanks to our hosts Leahjo, Alan and Barley for putting us up in their colorful and comfortable home.
